Career Opportunities

Students who successfully complete the History undergraduate programme may proceed to pursue a Master’s Degree in the same department or another one within the framework of the criteria laid down by the Council of Higher Education, and start a career in the academic world.

History graduates may work as experts in archives or public or private institutions (Turkish Presidency State Archives of Republic of Turkey, TGNA, national archives, libraries, land registry offices, courthouses etc.). They may also work as history teachers in public or private schools on the condition that they complete pedagogical formation programme.

Besides, history graduates may be appointed as civil servants with Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) if they meet certain criteria and they have the opportunity to work as tourist guides if they complete the required certificate programme.
