Learning Objectives

  • Looking through the reasons and outcomes of social phenomena and changes in the globalised and rapidly changing world from a sociological perspective.
  • Becoming skilled at defining problems, formulating them and finding solutions for them; using appropriate analysis and models. 
  • Developing contemporary approaches as well as having the knowledge of classical and modern theories on how to analyse facts, phenomena and incidents better.
  • Using acquired knowledge and skills to develop critical approaches to social issues. Using acquired knowledge in the policy making processes for social problems.
  • Participating in the designing or application phases of qualitative and quantitative researches; translating data into analysis with the help of computers; having knowledge on the outcomes of the researches on a social scale, evaluating these outcomes in terms of ethics and law. Behaving responsibly all the time taking these possible outcomes and effects into consideration.
