Date: 01 September 2022 VIII. International Symposium on Balkan History Studies AIM The Balkans, due to its strategic position, have hosted many great civilizations throughout history. All civilizations dominating the Balkans have left permanent abstract and concrete traces in the region. Cultural and artistic works, especially architectural works, have held a place in the common heritage of humanity. Also, these works are indicators of the cosmopolitan social structure in the Balkans. Although the architectural and artistic works forming the Balkan culture are subject of many researches, they have not been studied sufficiently. In this context, in order to introduce the works on culture, architectural works, and artistic activities in the Balkans to the science community and all researchers, the main theme of the 8th International Symposium of 2022 has been determined as "Culture, Architecture, and Art in the Balkans". Thus, it is aimed to eliminate the lack of literature in this field by publishing a book including the papers presented at the symposium.
